MARK DERUITER MA, LPC, LLMFT
Throughout life, we all face times when we may need someone to come alongside us to encourage, support and provide a safe place of healing. Everyone experiences challenges and difficulties, both personally and in our relationships. For me, listening and truly seeking to understand where individuals and families are coming from when they come to counseling is vital in helping to guide people through their struggles and crisis to find peace and healing. It is within healthy relationships that healing can take place.
Working together to build trust through open communication, my goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental, safe environment to encourage healing and positive growth and change.
MY PHILOSOPHY/WHAT I OFFER:
I believe in a person-centered, empathetic and compassionate approach to the therapeutic relationship. Using evidence based practices applied from a Christian perspective, I will work with you to achieve ongoing and permanent, positive change in your life and relationships. Integrating a faith perspective into the counseling process is something that I think is important for healing. Therapy can be difficult at times and you may be challenged or confronted with change in certain areas but the goal will always be positive personal growth and healing.
AREAS OF FOCUS:
Working with Individuals, children, adults, and Families struggling with:
Depression and Anxiety
Relationship issues including: Marital, Pre-marital, and parent-child.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE:
The driving passion of my life is to live out my faith in such a practical way that it points others to the ultimate healing that comes through a relationship with Jesus. Having lived through many different life experiences that have included many joys and sorrows, love and loss, my relationship with Jesus has been the saving grace and source of strength and healing in my own life. When I get the chance I enjoy biking, travel, and spending quality time with friends and family.
